2021-08-19 The annual intercontinental Kickboxing online seminar attracts over 150 participants including participation of special guest “Buakaw”

The Asian Kickboxing Confederation conducted a second intercontinental annual online Kickboxing technical seminar on August 15, 2021 using the Zoom platform including the participation of more than 150 coaches, officials and members from over 25 national federations.

The Asian governing body of Kickboxing sport, held its annual seminar online to focus on the opportunities and challenges of COVID-19 and related issues faced by the Asian Kickboxing Confederation and its member national federations.

The seminar was held under direct supervision of Mr. Nasser Nassiri, the President of Asian Kickboxing Confederation  and conduct by Ph. D Euncheon Jeong, the executives’ members of the Board of Chairman of Technical Committee of Asian Confederation.

At the same time, Asian Confederation gave the opportunity to national coaches and referees from other continents to participate in the seminar.

Topics discussed included the grading of belts, techniques, basic and specialised tactics and updated referee/judges rules at the international standard with the aim of informing, raising knowledge and promoting coaches.
The seminar which took place at 3pm local time in Korea and lasted for five hours, with two intermissions each of 10 minutes.

To the surprise of the participants, the special guest Mr. Sombat Banchamek “Buakaw” appeared at the gallery and greet President Nassiri and everyone.

Buakaw is middleweight World well known professional Thai Kickboxer, several times champion at Omnoi Stadium, Lumpinee Stadium Toyota Marathon champion, former #1-ranked fighter in Lumpinee Stadium. two-time K-1 World MAX champion BuaKaw is ranked is ranked as of the best lightweight kickboxer in the world by Combat Press.

Mr. Nassiri, the President of Asian Confederation declared: Buakaw joined Asian Kickboxing Confederation during 2020 and participate in our seminar as a director of the Kickboxing Association of Thailand. We are proud to have Buakaw with us who will reinforce Asian Kickbxing Confederation’s position and in general Kickboxing position in Thailand, South East Region and internationally.

Mr. Sombat Banchamek “Buakaw” declared : “Thank you to the President of Asian Kickboxing Confederation to give me and my team a very good experience to understand that kickboxing is a sport which is not too difficult to learn and practice especially  for Thai athletes. As a K1 fighter, I will assist in develop Kickboxing to Thais properly and correctly to attack more athletes from Thailand and hope to see you in competition somewhere in Thailand and or abroad. Thank you so much and please take good care of yourself and family.”

The President of Asian governing body added : “I would like to personally thanks Miss Guptasa the manager at National Sports Development Fund “NSDF”, who played significant role in recognition of Kickboxing Association by Sports Authority of Thailand “SAT” and has same beliefs than us that Kickboxing has power to generate good opportunities to Thais since Thailand has many athletes nicknamed “Kings of K-1” who competing in Kickboxing.”

Mr. Roy Baker, the President of the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) was invited and appeared in the gallery of a rules update and overview hosted by Asian Confederation to welcome the participant and exchange a few words to the participants, asking them to focus especially on the development of Kickboxing and not get distracted by other groups trying to use our history and strength to feed other combat sports or federations.  On this occasion Mr. Baker congratulated Mr. Nasser Nassiri, the President of the Asian Confederation of Kickboxing and his management team for the success of their activities and efforts to develop Kickboxing at international level especially in Asia.

The organisation of such an important international event in Asia was a prestigious accomplishment for the world of kickboxing, said Euncheon Jeong, Chairman of the Technical Committee  and executive board member of Asian Kickboxing Confederation.

Asian Confederation thanked the President, Nasser Nassiri, Vice President Aleksandr Voinov and Euncheon Jeong for preparing and conducting the seminar.
