Mr. Nasser Nassiri, President of Asian Kickboxing Confederation wrote a letter of congratulations to Dr. Husain Al-Musallam shortly after his election as new President of FINA, the world swimming governing body which, took place during the FINA General Congress 2021 in Doha, on Saturday June 5, 2021.
President of the Asian governing body extend to Dr. Husain Al-Musallam the hearty congratulations on his election as new president of FINA, on behalf of the members of the Board of Directors of Asian Kickboxing Confederation and entire community and also personally.
The President Nassiri said: “It gives me great pleasure to extend you on behalf of the members of the Board of Directors of Asian Kickboxing Confederation and entire community and also personally the hearty congratulations on your election as new president of FINA, the world swimming governing body.”
President Nassiri add: “Your election as new President of FINA, is wonderful news for the Olympic movement and in particular in Asia. Today after your election as the newly elected President of FINA, we are prouder as Asian.”
Captain Husain Al-Musallam of Kuwait was FINAs first Vice-President since July 2017. He initially joined the FINA Bureau in 1996. He received the FINA Gold Pin in recognition of his contribution to swimming at all levels throughout his life.
Dr. Al-Musallam joined the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in 1982 and is the OCA Directeur General & Technical Director -Executive Board Executive.
Before becoming an important sports administrator, Dr. Al-Musallam debuted his career as a swimmer in the national team of Kuwait. He competed in all Pan-Arab, Asian, and World Championships from 1974 to 1976.
This great achievement is the fruit of strenuous efforts over Dr. Al-Musallam past decades developing and promoting the sport in Asian continent and the world, to reach this position he deserves and it is no stranger to him.
