2019-09-27 Kickboxing Day in Asia 9 September

Asian Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO ASIA) is pleased to announce that during the Board of Directors of Asian Kickboxing Confederation which took place early today, on the proposal of Mr Nasser Nassiri, the President of Asian Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO ASIA) and Vice President of WAKO, the day of 9 September as the day of Kickboxing in Asian Continent.

In fact, on 9 September 2005, the Kickboxing Sport was recognized by Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) during its 24th OCA General Assembly held in Guangzhou following which after significant efforts of the President Nassiri who immediately filed our application of recognition with OCA and applied for inclusion of Kickboxing sport in Asian Indoor Games starting with Macau 2nd Asian Indoor Games in October 2007.

Finally, on May 28, 2007 during the 50th OCA Executive Board meeting, Olympic Council of Asia had granted the recognition to Asian Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO ASIA) as body in charge of Kickboxing sport in Asia and since Kickboxing Sport is include as official sport in Prestigious Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games and in SEA Games.

We congratulate you and encourage you to program the celebration day of 9 September on your annual national agenda every year as Kickboxing Day of Asia.
