2023-03-15 Asian Power in Action in South East Asia

Great news for all of members in particular in South East Asia.
The Council Meeting of South East Asian Games (known as SEA Games) Federation took place from 10-12 March 2023 in Bangkok (Thailand) at the Grand Fourwings Hotel, with the participation of the representatives of NOCs and Sport Authorities members of SEAGF.
Mr Nassiri, President of Asian Kickboxing Confederation was invited by the Chairman and participated in the meeting as special guest.
The council reviewed the proposal revised charter which shall be finalised and proposed for adoption during the next Council meeting which will be held in Cambodia.
President Nassiri given opportunity to express the situation of Kickboxing and the fact that the application for the inclusion of Kickboxing was initiated by Asian Kickboxing Confederation under his direct supervision first time during 2015 and after the completed and finalised by communication of various documents during 2018. Accordingly the SEAGF announced in October 2018 the inclusion of Kickboxing as official sport in 30th SEA Games Philippinnes 2019 and immediately after in 31st SEA Games Vietnam 2021 (held in May 2022) and now in 32nd SEA Games Cambodia 2023.
President Nassiri supported by many representative members of NOC requested council that Kickboxing to be included in charter as official sport in category II.
The Council Board took note of request of President Nassiri which will be submitted to the next Council Board.
The Council Board among others stated that the SEAGF Charter, Rules and Regulations supersede all rules in particular administrative rules which shall be applied to all participating sports. In the event of non-compliance with these rules, the inclusion of sport concerned in the Games will be reconsidered.
Before the meeting and after the meeting President Nassiri had the opportunity to discuss with the Chairman and executives members of SEAGF about significant development of Kickboxing in South East Asia.
President Nassiri said: The Asian Kickboxing Confederation thanks all NOC representatives present at the meeting, specially Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and Laos for their continued support.
