TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERNE
It has recently came to our attention that the non-official organization called WKU which pretend being World Kickboxing and Karate Union plan to organize the so-called “3rd Open Asian Kickboxing Championships 2019 Lebanon” with collaboration of Lebanon Federation of Kickboxing Sports from 12 to 14 April 2019.
Asian Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO ASIA) would like to clarify the situation and inform all concerned persons, the followings:
Asian Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO ASIA) is the only legitimate and official Kickboxing organization and the body in charge of Kickboxing sport in Asia, the status that has been granted by Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) during the 50th OCA Executive Board Meeting on May 2007.
The organizer of the aforementioned non-recognized competition by pretending the organization of Asian Kickboxing Championships is attempting to mislead the athletes, the Kickboxing community and the national sports authorities of Asian countries. In fact, the organizer in its own publicity refers to an “OPEN” competition, which can only be only the non-recognized “Open tournament” and not the championships.
Asian Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO ASIA), hereby officially declare that it will not recognize the so-called 3rd Open Asia Kickboxing Championships neither WKU.
Furthermore, the above-mentioned open tournament organized by the dissident organization/person is not recognized by any official sport authority in charge of sport in Asia.
Last but not least : We request you to inform your sport national authorities, National Olympic Committee, National Kickboxing Federation and athletes to not take part in such non-recognized tournament of different dissident organizations which are against the good administration of Kickboxing sport in Asia.
