2019-03-28 Kickboxing Federation of Singapore, held athletes qualification for Kickboxing competition of upcoming SEA Games 2019

Kickboxing Federation of Singapore, athlete’s qualification for Kickboxing competition of upcoming SEA Games 2019 during the national championships held from 22 to 24 March, concluded with resounding success!

It was a high standard of kickboxing competition organised by Kickboxing Federation of Singapore, supported by National sport authorities and Asian Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO ASIA).

The competition was the first stage of athlete’s qualification for the 30th South East Asian Games, to be held in Philippines 2019 from 30 November to 10 December.

Held in conjunction with actiFIT Asia 2019, the main proud event partner, at Marina Bay Sands with state-of-the-art facilities, the competition saw a tremendous turnout of over 1000 viewers from all walks of life.

The athletes were registered from various affiliated gyms and competed in 7 events (Men and Women) in 2 Kickboxing fighting Styles (Low Kick and Kick Light) in both ring and tatami during 2 complete days of competition.

During the 2 days competition the excellent work were performed by Organizing Committee leads by President of Kickboxing Federation of Singapore Mr. Jason Lim and executive, Mr. Joel Lye, Ms Valencia Yip and members Ms Jen Koh, Mr Osborne Oh, Dr Soon Yuen and their medical team and staff.

The SAP safeties materials (the European manufacturer made and one the best accredited Kickboxing safeties materials) were chosen by technical committee of the Kickboxing Federation of Singapore for their efficacy and quality.

Big commendation in particular, to Mr. Nasser Nassiri, the President , Mr Euncheon Jeong, the Technical Director and Mr. Albert Lim the South East regional officer of the Asian Kickboxing Confederation respectively for their assistance their collaboration in preparation and organisation of the competition.

The highlight was the ring sports bouts on the Low-kick styles. Members of the audience were captivated and enthralled as the best kickboxers in Singapore fought to compete for a prestigious spot to represent Singapore in the 30th SEA Games 2019.

The best fighters from Hilltop Academy proved their high technical ability, skill and quality. The tenacity of the fighters eventually led Hilltop Academy to be awarded with the Overall Club Champion trophy after attaining two first place and one sound place.

Jason Lim, the President of Kickboxing Federation of Singapore declared: “Singapore thanks the President, the technical directors and officials of Asian Kickboxing Confederation including Malaysian Kickboxing Association President Mr Albert Lim and his staffs who came to Singapore for their invaluable support and looks forward to promoting the sport of Kickboxing to the highest level in the nation.”
