2018-11-30 WAKO granted provisional recognition by IOC

 

 

 

Asian Kickboxing Confederation is please to announced the during the International Olympic Committee’s Executive Board meeting held in Tokyo, Japan on 30 November 2018, provisional recognition was granted to the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) pursuant to Rule 25 of the Olympic Charter. This provisional recognition for a period up to three years reflects the WAKO’s embrace of the values of the Olympic Charter.

Nasser Nassiri President of Asian Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO ASIA) and Vice President of WAKO declared: We have just announced 2 days ago a big achievement of inclusion of Kickboxing Sport in SEA Games 2019 Philippines http://wakoasia.com/?p=2243, which is considerate as one of the most prestigious Asian regional games which the eligibility of participation is reserved only to concerned countries national Olympic Committee. We have shown the credibility of our sport which hardly could be ignored.

Nasser Nassiri added: After sudden death of President Pelevic, by appointment of Mrs. Francesca Falsoni as interim President, we have also shown that in difficult moment we know how to unit for the best interest of our sport.

We would like to congratulate all WAKO members and in particular, the Continental Confederation for their contribution and coordination forwarding all necessary information and documents needed for our application.
