The Asian Kickboxing Confederation mourns the loss of Major General Charouck Arirachakaran, the great man and one of the leaders of Asian sport.
Major General Charouck Arirachakaran was one of the lovers of combat sports and the one who took the initiative to establish the kickboxing association in Thailand in January 2009 on the occasion of the first Asian Marian Arts Games (BAMAGO) promoted by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). Accordingly, the Thai athletes were able to participate in Kickboxing competition of 2009 Asian Martial Arts Games and others following OCA events.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family, loved ones, the Olympic Council of Asia, the Sports Authority, and the National Olympic Committee of Thailand.

We have a pleasure to address you attached the “Official Report” of Kickboxing competition of the 32nd SEA Games, Cambodia 2023 approved and signed by Euncheon Jeong Ph. D., the Technical Delegate of the Kickboxing competition of the 32nd SEA Games, Cambodia 2023.
As you are informed, Kickboxing competition consisted of seventeen (17) events among three (03) ring styles (Full Contact, Low Kick and K1) and two (02) tatami styles (Light Contact and Kick Light) presenting male and female competitors with the total of twelve (12) male events and five (05) female events in defined weight categories.
The Official Report composed with the following exhibits:
Exhibit 1 – Number of Entries: Contains detailed information such as the number of entries by participating NOCs (in total 8 NOCs including Cambodia), with the total number of 100 participating athletes (70 male athletes and 30 female athletes).
Exhibit 2 – Kickboxing Events Draw: Contains the detailed information of draw of each event (categories), in total 17 Events.
Exhibit 3 – Results Kickboxing Events: Contains detailed information relating to the results of the 17 events such as the names of the athletes who won the gold, silver and bronze medals, the name of the NOC of the medalists concerned, of each event.
Exhibit 4 – Medals Tables by Division (Ring & Tatami): Contains detailed information related to the ranking by participants NOCs in the each of the two divisions (Ring and Tatami), taking in consideration that we had 12 events in Ring styles and 5 events in Tatami styles.
Exhibit 5 – General Medals Table Kickboxing Events: Contains detailed information related to medals table in kickboxing events by participating NOCs.

2022-12-30 Asian Kickboxing Championship 2022 Bangkok what a great success https://wakoasia.com/2022-12-30-asian-kickboxing-championship-2022-bangkok-what-a-great-success/ Fri, 30 Dec 2022 09:55:53 +0000 http://wakoasia.com/?p=4172 Asian Kickboxing Confederation organized Asian Kickboxing Championships 2022 in Bangkok from 11-18 December in Thai Japan Youth center with a great success.

The Asian Championships was organized with collaboration of Kickboxing Association of Thailand under direct supervision of President Nassiri and Euncheon Jeong Ph. D. the Chairman of Technical Committee and member of the Board of Directors of Asian Confederation.

The total of 20 countries from the five Zones of Asian continental took part with participation of 350 athletes with 429 registration in different Kickboxing styles (both Rings and Tatamis).

The host country Thailand obtained the 3rd place in combined styles medals ranking after Kazakhstan with first and Iran 2nd Places.

The other South East Asian countries members such as Philippinnes, Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam were actively present during the Asian Championships and obtain important results and ranking.

Central, West, East and South  Asian countries were as well duly presented with many athletes in different styles.

2022-08-09 Central Luzon Kickboxing Invitational Open 2022 https://wakoasia.com/2022-08-09-central-luzon-kickboxing-invitational-open-2022/ Tue, 09 Aug 2022 00:51:01 +0000 http://wakoasia.com/?p=4032 Manila, Philippinnes : Samahang Kickboxing ng Pilipinas Announced that the Central Luzon Kickboxing Invitational Open 2022 was held on August 3 – 6, 2022 at SMX Convention Center, Olongapo City, Philippines.

The Central Luzon Kickboxing Invitational Open 2022 served as the 1st regional qualifying to the Philippine National Kickboxing Championship 2022 to be held at Music Hall, Mall of Asia, Pasay City, Metro Manila on October 26 – 28 this year.

The event were attended by 44 strong Kickboxers coming from Regions I, II, III, the National Capital Region (NCR) and the Cordillera Capital Region (CAR) with 14 Kickboxing Gyms from 5 regions. The teams competed in the event were as follows:

1. Malayan Wild Stallion Kickboxing – Vigan City
2. Yaw-yan Fervilleon Kickboxing – San Pablo City
3. Team Kafagway Martial Arts Gym – Baguio City and Benguet Province
4. International Malayan Sports Combat – Candon City
5. MUMMA/ Wild Bout Boxing Gym – Metro Manila
6. Malayan Sports Combat Katalas – Cabugao, Ilocos Sur
7. Team Tribu Banwar – Tabuk City, Kalinga
8. Team Evolutions – Baguio City
9. Sipakan Sports Hub/ JRA Fitness Hub – Cabanatuan City
10. SKP Montalban, Rizal
11. Penalosa Boxing Gym – Metro Manila
12. Team Quads – La Trinidad, Benguet
13. Team Westplygrnd – Province of Ifugao
14. Boot Camp Kickboxing – Olongapo City

Samahang Kickboxing ng Pilipinas opened 12 weight categories from full contact and low kick. For male Full Contact: -51, -57, -67; for female Full Contact: -48, -56, -65. For low Kick category male; -54, -60, -63.5, -71 and for female low kick; -52, and -60kgs.

The event was fully supported by the local government of Olongapo City headed by the City Mayor, Hon. Rolen PaulinoJr, as well as the Olongapo City Youth and Sports Office, Olongapo City Tourism Office and SM Olongapo Central.

Atty. Wharton R. Chan (SKP secretary – General), with the blessing of Sen. Francis Tolentino, spearheaded the event. There were 8 National Technical Officials (NTO) on duty with 10 Regional Technical Officials (RTOs) led by Ms Roselyn Hung as the Tournament Director and Mr. Bryan S. Olod as the Technical Delegate of the event. The other NTOs on duty are the following:

Dear Members, Dear Colleagues, Dear friends,
On this occasion, where the 2021-year ends, it is a good moment to look back on what we missed to accomplish and what we accomplished.
Our prestigious Kickboxing competition of the 6th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games and 31st South East Asian Games and finally Asian Championships, all have been postponed to protect our athletes, you and future of our sport.
We must continue to focus on our top events, the Asian Kickboxing Championships to be scheduled to take place in 2022 and postpended events in particular Kickboxing competition of the 31st SEA Games Scheduled to take place from 06 to 13 May 2022 in Bac Ninh (Vietnam) and the 6th AIMAG which will now be held from 17th to 26th of November 2023 in Thailand.
We are pleased with your vast involvement and participation in our different online webinar’s seminars in particular the Belt GRADING PROGRAM, KICKBOXING TECHNICS & RULES webinar seminar in last August.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, I strongly believe that we have many reasons to be optimistic heading into the new year. Our activities decreased significantly during last two years but we have shown that by working together in sportsman’s spirit, we can definitely overcome any obstacle.
I am sending you the warmest thoughts and to the members, colleagues and friends who celebrating the Christmas, I wish you and your families a Merry Christmas, and wishing you all a joyous holiday season with health, happiness and prosperity in 2022.

Mr. Ali Hussain was congratulated for his recent election as a member of the Board of Directors of Asian Kickboxing Confederation (AKC) during the last General Assembly of Asian Kickboxing Confederation of 7 March 2021.

During the meeting there were various topics discussed to insure any needs for development of the sport of kickboxing in the country and for the success of the athletes of the Kuwait Kickboxing Committee during upcoming in particular the upcoming 6th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games.

H.E Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al-Sabah  confirms the support of Kuwait Olympic Committee to Kuwait Kickboxing Committee and its executives and presented his best wish to Mr. Ali Hussain for his work as Member of the Board of Directors of Asian Kickboxing Confederation.

At the end of meeting Mr Ali Hussain presented a trophy to the President of Kuwait Olympic Committee H.E Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al-Sabah  and to the executive member of  Kuwait Olympic Committee Sheikh Mubarak Faisal Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah as gratitude to Kuwait Olympic Committee role of supporting athletes and the sport of Kickboxing.

Mr. Abdulaziz Alfadagh the Chairman of Kuwait Kickboxing Committee declared: “ On behalf of the members of Kuwait Kickboxing Committee, I thank the President and executives of Kuwait Olympic Committee for their continued support. We are proud of the accomplished work of our athletes and we strongly believe on their success of the upcoming 6th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games.

Mr. Ali Husain, the Secretary of Kuwait Kikboxing Committee and member of the Board of Directors of Asian Kickboxing Confederation declared: Since I am involved as Board member of Asian Kickboxing Confederation, I understand how well structured and serious is the Asian Kickboxing Confederation which explains the huge success since 2007 when the first time Kickboxing was presented in Macau 2nd Asian Indoor Games.

Mr. Ali Husain added: We are honored to meet with H.E Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al-Sabah  the President and Sheikh Mubarak Faisal Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah the executive of Kuwait Olympic Committee and we appreciate their continuous support which make easier for us to develop and improve our level in our sport.

On behalf of Mr. Euncheon Jeong, the Chairman of Technical Committee of the  Asian Kickboxing Confederation, we would like to inform and clarify that in Asia, the Kickboxing sport was recognized by Olympic Council of Asia on 9 September 2005 which is governing body of all sport in Asia.
Therefore Asian Kickboxing Confederation has been recognized by Olympic Council of Asia as body in charge of Kickboxing in Asia and Kickboxing has been included in the different Asian Games under auspices of the Olympic Council of Asia and therefore considerate as Olympic Games in Asia :
– 2nd Asian Indoor Games in 2007 in Macau,
– 1st Asian Martial Arts Games in 2009 in Thailand,
– 3rd Asian Indoor Games in 2009 in Vietnam,
After these games, which were held every two years, the Olympic Council of Asia decided to merge the Asian Indoor Games and the Asian Martial Arts Games, which since 2013 have been held every four years in which Kickboxing under the governance of Asian Kickboxing Confederation:
– 4th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in 2013 in South Korea,
– 5th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games  in 2017 in Turkmenistan,
– 6th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games win 2021 in Thailand.

The Asian Kickboxing Confederation filed application for inclusion of Kickboxing sport in in South East Asian Games unknow as SEA Games in 2015 and after many years efforts Kickboxing was included in 2019 SEA Games in Philippine and now in 2021 Vietnam SEA Games (postponed to 2022).
The SEA Games is a prestigious Game in South East Region founded on 22 May 1958, which eligibility of participation is reserved only to the teams of the sports representing the national Olympic committee of the 11 countries of the South East Region.
The SEA Games is a regional multi-sports events and has been considerate as regional Olympic Games for south East Asian Games.
The participation in the above-mentioned games should be done mandatory through the concerned National Olympic Committees in Asia and the participant teams representing the National Olympic Committee of their respective countries.
Therefore, these games are considerate for Asian sport federations, and for Asian Olympic Committee as Olympic Games in Asia.
