Social Media Policy Statement

The Asian Kickboxing Confederation recognizes the significant role that social media plays in connecting athletes, fans, and the wider kickboxing community. To ensure that these platforms are used responsibly and in alignment with the values of respect, fairness, and integrity, the WAKO Asia Board of Directors, during its meeting held on 11 September 2024, formally adopted binding Social Media Policies.

These policies establish enforceable standards of conduct for athletes, coaches, officials, and stakeholders when engaging on social media platforms. Their purpose is to safeguard the reputation of the sport, prevent misuse or misconduct online, and uphold the integrity of both individuals and the Confederation.

Specifically, the policies provide guidance on:

  • Appropriate online behavior;
  • Responsible use of personal and organizational social media accounts;
  • The consequences of violating Asian Kickboxing Confederation’s social media policies;
  • Protection of personal and professional reputation online.

Compliance with these policies is mandatory. Any violation may result in disciplinary measures, including warnings, suspension, or other sanctions as determined by the competent Asian Kickboxing Confederation authority. By adhering to these policies, all members of the Asian kickboxing community contribute to an environment of respectful communication and ensure that social media use reflects the spirit of sportsmanship and respect.
