2018-01-01 Mr. Nassiri, Asian Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO ASIA) President’s New Year Greeting for 2018

Asian Kickboxing Competitions year and the start of another successful year for Asian Kickboxing Confederation’s (WAKO ASIA) members.

On behalf of the Asian Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO ASIA), I would like to wish everyone a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year 2018. The 2018 year is extra special for us, as it will bring first Asian Junior & Cadet Kickboxing Asian Championships and another edition of our prestigious Asian Championships.

For the first time in our history, we are going to conduct the Asian Junior & Cadet Kickboxing Asian Championships and we are confident that it will promoted at the best level as our previous events.

We have organized in 2017 the second part of our 2016 Asian Championships (this was organized in April 2017 in Turkmenistan) and served as test event for the 5th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games. We took part with great success in the prestigious 5th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games held in September 2017 in Ashgabat in Turkmenistan.

As Anti-Doping is big part of our education and awareness program, we conducted during 2017 Kickboxing events the regular Anti-Doping test and we are also focusing on anti-doping in 2018, working hand in hand with WADA and Asian Regional Anti-Doping Organizations, to try and ensure a Doping free Kickboxing Asian events and continue to protect our athletes.

My message to our athletes is to check in regular bases the WADA Prohibited list documents to avoid any potential problems during a routine doping test before or during the Asian and international Championships/Events and or out of competition testing.

We are very proud of the Asian Kickboxing events and are confident the 2018’s editions will be the memorial events once again for all of us.

Our sport “Kickboxing” has been included in prestigious Asian Olympic Games back in 2007 and we just achieved the first decade. This is a remarkable achievement for Asian Kickboxing Confederation, its leaders and our members as our sport “Kickboxing” is part of the Olympic movement in Asia.

This shows and confirms the “ASIAN POWER” which is able to bring together the youth in a peace environment, friendship and tolerance during difficult and tragic times in regions where we are witness of various conflict.

This demonstrate the “ASIAN POWER”, and highlight our role, as a continent leader partner in the World Kickboxing Development.

There is a lot to expect forward to in 2018.

Have a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

Nasser Nassiri
President of Asian Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO ASIA)
