2017-03-06 Bilateral pro-sport and cultural activities between WAKO IRAN and Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation

Baku, Azerbaijan, March 6, 2017: Within the framework of bilateral cultural and sport collaborations between WAKO IRAN Kickboxing Organization (WAKO IRAN) and Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation, Asian Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO ASIA) co-organized with Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation the Kickboxing Professional Tournament in Baku, Azerbaijan on Friday 3rd March 2017 as part of series of International Professional Kickboxing Tournament of HEYDAR ALIYEV CUP (VIII HEYDAR ALIYEV CUP) under WAKO PRO Rules.

The seven (7) athletes from WAKO IRAN competed with Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation athletes in two styles of Low Kick and K1 Rules (4 fights in Low Kick and 3 fights K1 Rules).

Several prominent political and sporting figures, such as Mr. Ismayil Ismaylov deputy Minister of Youth & Sport and members of parliament were present among the guests during the event.

Just before tournament, Mr. Nasser Nassiri, President of Asian Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO ASIA), Vice President of WAKO and President of WAKO IRAN had an opportunity together with Mr. Adil Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation to visit the grave of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and graves of civil citizen and military member which lost their life for the independence of Azerbaijan, the Alley of Martyrs (Shehidler Khiyabani).

Mr. Adil Aliyev President of Azerbaijan Kickboxing Federation informed the participants during the visit the political-social activities and strategy of Heydar Aliyev, and the martyr’s losses for integrity of Republic of Azerbaijan.

Mr. Nassiri, President of WAKO ASIA and President WAKO IRAN declared: It was a great pleasure for me to initiate the first bilateral professional sport event between Republic of Azerbaijan and my native country Iran. Our two countries have huge potential economic, cultural and sport grow and we should continue our efforts and take all necessary actions to increase these relations in their highest level.
