Following official invitation of Korean authorities, Mr. Nasser Nassiri, President of WAKO Asian Kickboxing Federation and Vice President of WAKO visited South Korea from 26 April to 1 Mai 2016.
During his visit, Mr. Nassiri met with Mr. Si-Jong Lee, the Governor of Chungcheongbuk-do Province of Republic of Korea, the Chairman of Cheongju World Martial Arts Mastership 2016. During the visit, the interesting exchanges and discussion about Martial Arts in general took place between the governor Si-Jong Lee and President Nassiri.
Mr. Nassiri and his colleagues of Korean Kickboxing Association Mr. Suntaek Kong General Secretary and Mr. Euncheon Jeong Director of Korean Kickboxing Association had various meeting with Dr. Heo, Keon-Sik expert Adviser of Department of International Affairs and Director of UNESCO-Union World Martial Arts.
During his visit, Mr. Nassiri conducted the inspection of the venue where the Kickboxing competition will be held during next September. Mr. Nassiri also inspected the athlete’s villages where the Kickboxing delegation will stay during the competition.
The last step of South Korea visit was an official meeting with Mayor of Jeongeup City Mr. Kim Saeng-ki in city hall of Jeongeup City (approximately 200 km from Seoul) where Mr. Nassiri had the opportunity to meet with Mayor Sport delegation and sign a protocol collaboration agreement with Jeollabuk-Do Kickboxing Association represented by its Chairman Mr. Kim Hyoun Young.
The visit ended in Seoul with official meeting Mr. Mah Euywoong, President of Korean Kickboxing Association in Hilton Hotel in Seoul. The two leaders discussed the various issues in particular the organization of Asian Kickboxing competition in K1 style, which is program to be held from 3rd to 8th of September 2016 in Cheongju – si of Chungcheongbuk-do province.
Mr. Nassiri together with Mr. Euncheon Jeong have left Seoul later evening on 01 May 2016 to Turkmenistan for an official visit and participation of 500 days count down of 5th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games.
WAKO Asian Kickboxing Federation leaded by Mr. Nasser Nassiri is the only continental Kickboxing Organization recognized by IOC Asian Continental Organization. The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) leaded by its President H.H Sheikh Ahmad Al-Sabah granted the recognition to WAKO Asian Kickboxing Federation as body in charge of Kickboxing Sport in Asia back in 2007 and included the Kickboxing sport in Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games as an official sport.
